Perseverance requires hope that is rooted in the One who can go beyond our wildest dreams to accomplish more than we could ever imagine. Join Bianca and I as we talk about: God’s grace for various seasons of life What to do when you are not sure what to do next Creating space in our lives to look back and see how far God has brought us The practical ways Bianca accomplishes so much in her everyday life Moving forward after failures Favorite quotes:  “If the Lord is asking you to lay this down, it’s because it’s not yours to carry, and when you pick this backup, it will be with even greater strength.” (14:20 audio)  “Right now, we have access to every amazing biblical communicator across the globe. What happens is that we are prone to emulate the voice and the sound of other people we admire. That’s great to be inspired by. It’s dangerous to be influenced by.” (29:13 audio)  “You have to discover your voice, be disciplined, and really do the work.” (30:29 audio) “It is going to take sacrifice, and it is going to take work. So whether you feel called inside the church or outside the church to communicate, you’re going to have to work.” (32:17 audio)    Coaching this week:  Boosting Your Mood (40:49 audio)  This week I share secrets to get out of negative self-talk soup. Welcome to the show today! We are in the middle of Smart Girl Summer. Today we are with one of my favorite smart women in the world, Beth McCord, better known as Your Enneagram Coach. I love doing these smart girl summer episodes. I learned quite a bit and I'm sure you will too.  Beth McCord is an accomplished Enneagram speaker, author, coach, and teacher with over two decades of dedicated experience. In her new book, The Enneagram for Moms: See the True Colors of Yourself and Your Children as God Intends, Beth blends Enneagram wisdom with practical insights to foster authentic and healthy family dynamics. Being flexible is one of the biggest things.”  (9:06 audio) “What can we do with the time we have and maximize it? That is the key here.”  (12:57  audio) “God created her to be her personality for her kids and their personalities. He didn’t make a mistake, so how can we celebrate that, and how can we own our weaknesses but not in a shameful, guilty, judging way? How can we see those and grow from them?”  (24:45 audio) “With courses, how can you say the same content and message as quickly, efficiently, practical, and applicable as possible? I would aim for bite-sized lessons.”  ( (26:54 audio) Coaching this week: (29:47 audio) Escaping the Mediocrity Trap: A Guide to Getting Unstuck In this week’s coaching, I share tips for recognizing mediocrity situations and practical steps to escape the mediocrity trip. The mediocrity trap is one of the trickiest ruts to escape. Unlike terrible situations that, once you are out, often turn into funny stories or proud memories, mediocre situations drag on and become what I call the "Lost Years."  The biggest obstacle to getting unstuck is often our own mindset. Don’t settle for a life that’s just okay. Recommendations: (41:00 audio) This week’s  recommendation is Spotifiy’s free audio books. It doesn’t mean it’s all falling apart. And even if it is all falling apart, it doesn’t mean it’s over. It means I’ve got to be curious about it rather than give up and walk away.” 14:48 (Audio) - “Transition isn’t just an aberration and an evil thing. It can be hard for sure, but transition is an opportunity to be creative. This is an opportunity to become more self-aware and aware of what God is saying to me.” 15:16 (Audio) - “Experiments are successful because of what they reveal, not just on account of whether they work or not.” 17:46 (Audio) - “Arriving at the end of the transition isn’t the point, it’s how you transition that matters.” 24:59 (Audio) - “I think we forget what it is to learn. And we forget that learning is integral to our gifting and our calling.” Coaching this week: (9:44 audio)  Confidence Boost: Simple Steps to Overcoming Fear and Taking Action  This week’s coaching I help you conquer hesitation and take action. It is okay to feel nervous and afraid, it means you care. It would be more problematic if you felt nothing at all.” (26:13 audio) “Create before you consume.” (29:30 audio) “Look for the one rather than looking for the masses.” Coaching this week:  Biggest Success Secret   (38:16 audio)  I shared my biggest success secret! Success in life is not that much about being smart or talented. The secret is grit and support! Grit will lap genius every single time, and you need people who know more than you helping you. I want you to keep in mind that the relationship that you have with yourself is the most crucial one because that voice isn't going anywhere. If you wouldn't take that kind of talk from a friend, you don't want to take it from yourself. I'll also want you to flip it around. Would you ever talk to a friend that way? Would you talk to your best friend, your spouse, or your child in the way that you talk to yourself? It is how we try to survive in the world and perceive it. Every type has a very particular way of perceiving the world and what they believe to be true about it.” (Audio 16:00)  “Our emotional responses can tell us so much about what we think, the narrative that we believe, what we think other people’s motivations are, and what we are trying to protect within ourselves.” (Audio 20:59)  Coaching this week:  How to Rewire Your Mind for Bravery and Resilience   Before I do each coaching call, I have my clients fill out information that helps them identify their recent wins, which helps them recognize where they are experiencing growth and momentum in their lives. I’m thrilled to have you join us in this episode as we dive into the powerful world of storytelling with my dear friend, Ally Fallon. Today, Ally will share some incredible insights into the emotional health benefits of writing our own stories. She’s here to guide us through the process of getting started and tapping into the transformative power of putting our experiences down on paper. Ally Fallon isn't just any guest; she's an accomplished author, speaker, and the founder of Find Your Voice—a community dedicated to helping people express themselves through writing. With her extensive background, including ghostwriting 11 books and authoring impactful works like The Power of Writing It Down and Indestructible, Ally brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. Her latest book, Write Your Story, introduces an 8-step framework that helps anyone craft a meaningful and captivating narrative. Join us as we explore why writing matters, the unexpected benefits it holds for our spiritual, emotional, and physical health, and how you can start making yourself the hero of your own story, even if you've never written a word before. Join Ally and I as we talk about: Why writing our story matters Surprising spiritual, emotional, and health benefits to writing our story Where to start if you have never written before Making yourself the hero of your story How to write compelling hooks   Favorite quotes:  (5:17 Audio) “The main reason writing our story matters is that the act of putting our story on paper teaches us who we are, what our life is about, what we are here for, why we matter, what makes our life so significant, and what is the most interesting thing about us. Beyond that, when we share that story it also allows us to connect with other people who are in our lives.”  (13:37 Audio) “It is really so powerful when you start to put your story down on the page. You just see it in another way.”  (15:33 Audio) “Every story is interesting if it’s told in the right way.”  (17:03 Audio) “When you know how to write a great hook, you know how to command human attention, and when you can command human attention, you can give people information that is really important to them.”  (20:45 Audio) “We have a lot more agency in resolving our stories than we think we do because most personal stories resolve when the internal problem resolves rather than the external problem.”    Coaching this week: How to Quit Letting Guilt Weigh You Down In coaching on this episode, I highlight the importance of using feelings of guilt as a gateway to deeper self-reflection, suggesting that these emotions can reveal significant underlying issues, like past unresolved experiences or current unmet needs. I encourage you to engage with guilt, using it as an opportunity to understand and address the root causes, which will ultimately help you find resolution and peace.
