In this episode we discuss: 1. How Andi and her family took a massive leap of faith 2. The possibility of misplaced worship 3. The story behind Fake or Follower     Favorite quotes: 1. We misplace our worship whether that’s of self or fame, or more modern culture, or our jobs, or relationships, or emotional highs and addiction above God and we start bowing down to these things and forget to surrender our lives to God and they take over. 2. I wanted to control everything. Control every circumstance and situation and feel safe and to go on an adventure. We say we wanted adventure. We said, "God, I surrender to you. Take me wherever, to do whatever you want." Then when he does, were like, "No not like that. I have this other way that you should do it."    In this episode I answer these questions: 1. What is your best advice for raising siblings that actually like each other? (35:55)   2. What do you do when you feel overwhelmed by what God has asked me to do? (43:13)   3. How can I get comfortable with the concept that I need to build my platform for myself and my business? (46:09)      Links to great things we discussed 1. Andi Andrew 2. Fake or Follow3. In this episode we discuss: What is Celebrate Recovery? How we need Jesus and each other in order for recovery to happen. How finding freedom takes action.    Favorite quotes:  There is nothing wrong with reading your Bible. Its an important part of our Christian life and it's an important part of Celebrate Recovery, but so many of us need more than just that sort of band-aid approach. We need a step-by-step process to help us get closer to Jesus.   The truth about Celebrate Recovery is that it’s a discipleship process. It helps us get closer to God, closer to Jesus through this step by step guide. For so many of us, it's really hard to take that first step but its such an important part of the journey.   The Bible tells us in James 5:16 to confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. There’s such power in telling someone else what’s going on in your life. If we want to be forgiven, we tell God. If we want to be healed, we tell and pray for each other.   No change happens until the pain exceeds our fear of change.   Pain gets our attention and it prepares us to help other people who are struggling.   If you are going through a hard time, there is a reason for it and Jesus cares about it.   We want microwave results but recovery is like a crockpot...it takes time.   There’s a desire for us to appear normal. We have it all together, we’re in control. I don’t need recovery, I don’t need therapy. Thank you very much. Leave me alone.  And it’s normal to protect yourself and not talk about things. There’s this idea in recovery that “those poor people who need help, I’m so glad I’m not one of them”. The truth is, we’re all “those people.”   We need to do whatever it takes to get healthy because God wants us to live an abundant life.     In this episode I answer these questions: What is your all-time favorite podcast to listen to? (33:50)   Is it true that God never gives us more than we can handle? (35:48)    I want to start a side business to bring in income for the family, but I don’t know if I have the personality for it. How do I know if I can make it work? In this episode we discuss: 1. The creative process. 2. The power of worship as we fight fear. 3. How walking through tough seasons strengthens us.   Favorite quotes: 1. Something about music taps into the human story and the story that all of us are made to be at home with the one who made us. 2. God flips hard and suffering on its head and says, “Yeah, it’s actually out of this pile of rubble and ashes that I’m going to breathe life and beauty.” 3. It’s almost always through the hard things, that the really beautiful things that seem to resonate with people are born.     In this episode I answer these questions: 1. I love the Year of Living Happy. Do you have any extra strategies that didn’t fit in those short chapters? (46:28)   2.  I saw that you were preaching on unfulfilled ambition at a church recently. How should we view our ambition as Christians? (51:27) 3. I have never even heard of a business coach. What do you do? (55:44)     Links to great things we discussed: 1. In this episode we discuss: What a life-giving leader looks like. How your influence is your leadership. What it looks like to build a lasting legacy of influence.   Favorite quotes: As followers of Jesus, that's a pretty clear thing, that we would follow and are connected to the source of life, which is Jesus the Holy Spirit. Is that overflowing to the people around us or are there things in our lives that are hindering the flow of life? What we do with our leadership is our influence. How you steward that influence is what matters. And for me the concept is, is it life-giving? Are you bringing life to people that you have been entrusted with to steward? If you don’t, guess what? You probably won’t grow; your influence will not grow.     In this episode I answer these questions: What can you do if your friends seem to be threatened by your goals and your dreams in life? (29:28)    Is it okay to ask God for clarity for things in my life? I heard a Bible teacher say that God gives us wisdom and we don’t need to ask for more clarity.  (34:43)    I need to have tough conversations with my employees that are under-performing. Do you have any advice? (37:21)     Links to great things we discussed: (Please link these) Tyler Reagin Catalyst Portugal. In this episode we discuss: Why your home doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful How to decorate beautifully without it being complicated, intimidating, or expensive What is cozy abuse and how to avoid it   Favorite quotes: Decorating is all about working one room at a time, with an order and making smart decisions based on what you like or don’t like and what inspires you. Shopping second hand is so fun if you have a little bit of time and if you have more time than money. It's such a great use of your time to find second hand things. I have found some methods and some steps and an order of making decisions when it comes to decorating a room in our house and attacking that room and making it look the way you want that really really works for anyone even if you are not design-ery.       In this episode I answer these questions: 1. I heard you mentioning protecting your kids online. I heard you say you removed the App Store from their phones. How do you do that? (45:15) 2. What is God teaching you right now? (47:15) 3. I need to start making money to help the family finances. What is the fastest way to bring in income and where do I start? (52:58)     Links to great things we discussed: 1. In this episode we discuss: 1.What it’s like being forever known as “Chewbacca Mom” 2.The truth about joy 3.How to discover what you are supposed to do in life     Favorite quotes: 1. There was something that happened to me personally in my twenties when I realized not everybody was thinking about me as often as I was thinking about me.  2. Most people are afraid to take the first step in self-discovery.  3. I never thought about what is that one truth, the one thing that makes you feel like you can’t live this life without knowing this more and also teaching others about it. That question is something I think a lot of us need to ask because, within it, you are gonna find out who you are. It’s gonna leave margin for joy. It’s gonna leave space for you actually feel like you’re doing what your supposed to do.  4. I believe the best way to find your burn is to look at what is the opposite. What absolutely is something that you can’t stand, that you feel is an injustice, that you feel like “ugh” every time you see this you wanna war against it, in a good way.   In this episode I answer these questions:  1. What is your best advice for raising sons that respect women? (39:38) 2. If you can ask God to change one thing about you, what will it be? (48:22) 3. I feel like comparison is killing me. I know I’m supposed to keep an eye out on my competition. How do I do it without falling into the comparison trap? (50:35)   Links to great things we discussed: 1.
